COMMUNITY-INFORMED LEADERSHIP

Leadership That Sets the Standard

Farmers Branch operates under a weak-mayor system, which means the mayor does not vote on council motions. But leadership in this system still matters because the mayor helps shape how decisions are made.

Jaime believes the mayor’s responsibility is to lead a transparent, accountable council process that reflects the voices of residents. That means using the mayor’s role to affectively set clear agendas, encourage participation, and follow up on action items to ensure productivity and engagement.

This should is about raising expectations for all elected officials. As mayor, Jaime will model preparation, openness, and respect for constituent input, while setting the expectation that every councilmember does the same. Decisions should be informed by residents, professional staff, and long-term impacts, not personal agendas.

"My goal is not to control outcomes, but to ensure Farmers Branch has a council process the public can trust."
