Jaime Rivas has called Farmers Branch home for the past ten years. He and his wife are raising four children here, all of whom attend Carrollton–Farmers Branch ISD schools. Like many families in our city, their daily lives are shaped by the quality of our schools, the safety of our neighborhoods, and the decisions made at City Hall.
Professionally, Jaime is a sales and project managment leader in the construction industry. His work requires listening carefully, solving real-world problems, managing long-term relationships, and delivering results; skills that translate directly to public service in a city where, collaboration and practical decision-making matter.
Jaime’s commitment to Farmers Branch goes well beyond just attending meetings or having opinions. He has been actively involved in his children’s schools through PTA leadership and hands-on volunteerism. He has served on both the school bond committee and the school bond oversight committee, helping ensure that major public investments are planned responsibly and carried out transparently.
At the city level, Jaime was recently appointed to the Charter Review Committee, where he is working with fellow residents to examine how Farmers Branch governs itself and where improvements can be made. He has also contributed to the city’s Events Committee for the past three years, supporting efforts that bring neighbors together and strengthen community pride.
What drives Jaime is simple: a belief that strong communities are built when people step up, listen to one another, and take responsibility for the place they live. He believes public service should be grounded in respect for residents, informed by real conversations, and focused on long-term outcomes rather than short-term interests.
Jaime is running for mayor because he wants Farmers Branch to continue being a city where families can thrive, voices are heard, and decisions are made thoughtfully and in the open. He brings the perspective of a parent, a professional, and a neighbor who is committed to contributing , not just talking; and to leading in a way that reflects the values of the community he calls home.
